“Essentially this was both a PR exercise for Clarkes and an opportunity to explain the very many potential career opportunities there are for these young people on their doorstep. We pride ourselves in being very much part of the local community,” explains Martin Lowry.
“P. Clarke & Sons Ltd has been going from strength to strength for a number of years now and currently employs over 400 people across its six divisions who operate the length and breadth of Ireland. We thought it would be useful to explain at first hand how our various divisions work; what type of projects they’re engaged in and what sorts of opportunities exist for bright, motivated young people.”
The event was supported and attended by the school Principal, Gary Kelly and Careers’ Teacher, Margaret Collins.
The pupils of St. Comgalls found the presentation very interesting. Emma McCaffrey pointed out: “I was surprised and delighted by the variety of career opportunities available.” Another Pupil, Jonathan Officer felt there was a huge range of different jobs within the company, not just in construction. |
